The Sea when Dinosaurs Roamed

During the time when the dinosaurs roamed free, neither the earth nor the sea were the same as we find them today. The sea had a different look as the continents were joined together forming a super continent or Pangaea. Not only that but the creatures that roamed in the sea were also entirely different. These creatures consisted of some monsters that we can just imagine in the present time. Most of these creatures were amphibians. We shall give you a picture of the sea creatures that roamed in the sea.

Plesiosaurs evolved in the Late Triassic but their population multiplied in the Middle and Late Jurassic. There were of two types - the large short-necked Plesiosaurs were the top predators of Jurassic seas and the long neck plesiosaurs maybe lived on small fish and other small prey. Other such animals were Ichthyosaur, which had some features like reptile and some like fish.

One such animal that grew on the same line was Elasmosaurus of the length of 45 had an extremely long neck. Further during cretaceous period many new animals evolved and others flourished. Rays, modern sharks and teleost became very common. Hesperornithifores were marine diving bird with no wing and swam like grebes. The sea urchins such as Globotruncanid Foraminifera and echinoderms and starfish flourished.
